RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Dominican University Department of Athletics announced on Friday, that Joe Segreti has been named the head women's tennis coach at Dominican University in addition to his role as the head men's tennis coach.  Segreti takes over for Lenno Lasn, who was a first-year head coach for the Stars last season and will remain with the program as an assistant coach after taking on a larger role at Courts Plus in Elmhurst where he is the tennis coordinator for events and services.

"I want to thank Dominican University for the responsibility it has entrusted in me to run both the men's and women's tennis programs," said Segreti.  "I'm really excited about the opportunity to serve as the head coach for both teams."

Segreti is a 2007 graduate of Dominican University and has been a member of the Dominican University tennis programs in various roles since 2006, including student-athlete, assistant coach and head coach.  Last season, Segreti guided the men's program to a 6-7 overall mark and a fifth-place finish in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with a 5-4 conference record.  The Stars' number one doubles team of Kevin Amarantos (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Greg Tabaka (Chicago, Ill.) captured the conference's doubles crown, the first doubles champions for the Stars in over a decade.

Segreti inherits a women's program fresh off a program-best 10-6 season, going 8-3 in NAC play.  Kornelia Nowaczyk was named the NAC Freshman of the Year as she finished in the top eight at the NAC Individual Tournament last October.
