CHICAGO -- The Edgewood College women's tennis team made their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, but unfortunately for the Eagles, the third trip ended in the same manner as the first two. Edgewood College dropped a 5-0 first round match to UW-Whitewater to end their season at 17-12.

The Eagles hoped to put a scare into the Warhawks, ranked eighth in the Central Region, in doubles play, but UW-Whitewater turned back any thoughts of an upset early on. Lauren Aguilar and Amy Siemon defeated Brittany Storhoff and Ali Diamond-Tumbush 8-0 at No. 3 doubles, followed shortly by the Warhawks' Alexandra Bayliss and Kalla Schaefer defeating Hannah Pincsak and Shae Beckwith at the No. 1 position by the same score. Only Amber Hemp and Jessi Ditzler managed to win a game, falling 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.

The weather on the University of Chicago's campus turned colder before the singles matches began, but the change in atmosphere couldn't change the course of the match. The Warhawks finished the sweep by winning No. 5 and No. 6 singles in short succession. UW-Whitewater's Sydney Divelbiss defeated Storhoff 6-0, 6-0 and Bayliss swept the Eagles' Kristen Boone 6-0, 6-0 to end the match.
