Starck went 2-0 in her final regular season No. 2 singles matches to extend her winning streak to 15. The freshman helped lead the Eagles to a perfect 10-0 NAC record.

Maggie Kane, Benedictine University

Playing in her first-ever season of college tennis, Kane had an outstanding week for the Eagles by going undefeated in No. 1 singles play. She went 4-0 overall and 3-0 within the NAC, among which was an epic battle with WLC's Rachel Wendt where she was down one set and trailing 1-4 in the second before coming back to win. Kane also posted a win over the No. 1 singles player from perennial power Lake Forest College. Kane and No. 1 doubles partner Lisa Carillo-Gunning were 3-1, as well.

Starck was perfect last week after winning five singles and five doubles matches, and leading the Eagles to five wins against NAC opponents. The freshman No. 2 singles player has six-match win streaks in both singles and doubles and hasn't dropped a set in NAC play.

...5-8...Junior...Hluboka, Czech Republic (Gymnazium)...
Fialova won three singles matches on the week, including a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of two-time NAC #1 singles champion Erin Henrich. She is 4-0 in singles matches for the season.

September 1-7

Jenny Pietkauskis, Edgewood College
...5-6...Freshman...Sharon, Wis. (Big Foot)...
Pietkauskis went 3-1 at No. 4 singles and 2-1 at No. 2 doubles last week. The freshman helped Edgewood College to a 5-4 win over UW-Stout with wins in both singles and doubles and nearly led the Eagles to a win against UW-River Falls, but fell short 5-4.

August 29-31

Kelsey Steinhorst, Edgewood College
...5-7...Junior...Baraboo, Wis. (Baraboo)...
Steinhorst opened the 2008 season with a 1-2 No. 1 singles record and a 2-1 No. 2 doubles record. Her singles win came against UW-Oshkosh in straight sets and her two doubles matches were tough wins against UW-Stevens Point and Wartburg College. She helped the team move to 1-2 on the season.
