Concordia Wisconsin wins Northern Athletics Conference Women's Tennis Championship

MADISON, Wis. -- Concordia University Wisconsin won the 2006 Northern Athletics Conference Women's Tennis Championship today at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Concordia Wisconsin becomes the second team to win a NAC team championship in the newly formed conference, as Aurora University won the women's golf championship yesterday.

The Falcons, who went a perfect 9-0 in regular season NAC duals, won four of the individual championships at the two day event. Concordia Wisconsin's 76 total points edged out second place finisher Wisconsin Lutheran College by just three points. Edgewood College finished third with 68 total points.

Concordia Wisconsin's Erin Henrich (Watertown, Wis.) won the No. 1 singles championship, and teamed up with Renelle Hui (Indianapolis, Ind.) to win the No. 1 doubles championship. The freshman was named both NAC player of the year and rookie of the year.

Edgewood College's Doanh Wang was voted Northern Athletics Conference coach of the year by his peers. Wang's Eagles won three individual championships and went 8-1 in regular season NAC duals (10-6 overall).
