Marian women's soccer "Playing For A Cause"

FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Marian University women's soccer team will be hosting the Lakeland College Muskies in Northern Athletics Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Sabres are holding a benefit called, "Playing for a Cause," that requires the support and participation of the community in a fight against multiple sclerosis. Admission is free and spectators are encouraged to wear orange in an effort to promote the cause. The match is scheduled to begin at Smith Fields 4 p.m.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. The Sabers are looking forward to providing a helping hand to promote awareness for those affected by MS. Donations are encouraged while literature will be handed out about the disease and save the date cards promoting the MS Walk at Marian on April 28, 2012 will be distributed.
The Sabres are coming off an impressive come-from-behind, 2-1, victory over Dominican their last time out. Marian is 4-2 at home while the Muskies are 2-3 on the road. Following Tuesday's match, Marian will take to the road for a pair of matches against non-conference opponent Elmhurst (7-2) on Wednesday before jumping back into NAC play with a game at Rockford (3-5) Saturday afternoon.
