Aurora chosen for NAC women's soccer title three-peat

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Aurora University has been tabbed to three-peat as Northern Athletics Conference women's soccer champions, according to the preseason coaches' poll.

Aurora received all 13 first place votes in the poll. The Spartans have yet to lose to an opponent in NAC play since the conference's first season in 2006, including both regular season and conference tournament contests. Aurora finished last season with a 19-3-1 record (12-0 NAC).

Edgewood College (15-4, 11-1 NAC) was chosen second tallying 153 poll points, 10 points ahead of Dominican University (13-8, 9-3), who was chosen third.

Concordia University Wisconsin (10-9-1, 8-4) was picked fourth, Benedictine University (10-5-1, 8-3-1) fifth, and Marian University (9-9, 6-6) sixth with 99 points.

MSOE (9-7-3, 7-4-1) was chosen seventh with 94 points, Lakeland College (7-12, 6-6) eighth, and Maranatha Baptist Bible College (6-14, 3-9) ninth.

Concordia University Chicago (4-15, 4-8) received one more point than Wisconsin Lutheran College (2-16-2, 2-10) for the number ten slot.

Alverno College (6-13, 1-11) and Rockford College (4-14, 0-12) finish the poll in the final two spots.

The Northern Athletics Conference tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III women's soccer championship in November.
