Aurora captures third NAC Women's Golf Championship

JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Aurora University captured its third consecutive Northern Athletics Championship yesterday at Glen Erin Golf Corse in Janesville, Wis.
The Spartans posted scores of 393 and 405 in the two day event for a total score of 798.
Aurora led by 43 strokes after the first day of the event, and finished with a 72 stroke advantage over runner-up Edgewood College (436-435--870). Marian University (465-459--924) finished in third place, Wisconsin Lutheran College (496-477--973) in fourth and Benedictine University (540-528--1068) in fifth place. Concordia University Wisconsin, Lakeland College and MSOE did not qualify for team scores.
Concordia University Wisconsin's Muriel McIntyre claimed medalist honors with a score of 168 (+26). McIntyre shot the best score of the championship tournament on day one with 80 (+9). She shot an 88 on Saturday for a 168 total. Her day one and total championship scores mark new NAC Championship records in the conference's three-year history. Aurora's Kristen Richardson held the previous single round (84) and championship total (173) records from her 2007 finish.
