Aurora claims inaugural NAC Women's Golf Championship

BRISTOL, Ill. -- Aurora University claimed the 2006 Northern Athletics Conference women's golf championship, becoming the first team champion of the newly formed conference.
Aurora University lead by 29 strokes after the first day of the championship, and added 9 more to their cushion on the final day to finish with a score of 920 (462-458). Edgewood College finished in second place with a score of 958 (500-458), rallying from fifth place after day one. Lakeland College finished in the No. 3 spot with a 996 (491-505) total.
Edgewood College's Nicole Gluzinski claimed medalist honors by finishing ten strokes better than her teammate and runner-up, Kaitlyn Herzog. Gluzinski shot a championship best 89 on day one, and followed it up with the best round of day two at 93. Hertzog totaled 192 (97-95), and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Abbie Lecy totaled 197 (92-107) to finish third.
