Curtis honored by D3Hoops.com

LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University women's basketball standout Tamika Curtis (Bellwood, Ill./Nazareth Academy) has been named to the D3Hoops.com National "Team of the Week" for the period of February 4-10, 2008. It is the third time this season that Curtis has been so honored on the national level.

Curtis was also selected as the Northern Athletics Conference "Student-Athlete of the Week" for the third time this season this past week.

During last week's games - in which the Eagles' team went 2-1 - Curtis strung together three-consecutive double-double games. She averaged 21.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.3 assists per game, all while shooting a tidy 63 percent (27-43) from the field.

Curtis has 13 double-doubles in 22 games this season and 53 in her BU career. She has scored in double-digits in 21 games in 2007-08, as well (and in 95 of 102 career games).
