RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia University Chicago announces the appointment of Joshua Steffen as head coach for the women's basketball team, effective June 2. Steffen takes over for Tamlyn Tills who accepted the head coach's position at Lake Forest College following the 2007-08 season.

Scheele takes basketball skills to Europe for tour
MADISON, Wis. -- Edgewood College women's basketball standout Megan Scheele will leave Friday with USA Athletes International on a nine-day, four-game tour of England, France, Belgium and Amsterdam. This will be Scheele's second international basketball trip as she participated on a similar USA Athletes International tour to Australia last summer.

Tamlyn Tills resigns as Concordia Chicago women's basketball coach
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Tamlyn Tills, head coach of the Concordia University Chicago women's basketball team for the past six seasons, has resigned her position to accept the head coaching job at Lake Forest College. Tills will succeed Jackie Slaats who coached the Foresters program for the past 22 years.

Scheele named All-American
MADISON, Wis. -- Junior forward Megan Scheele was named to the D3Hoops.com All-American team. Scheele was a fourth team selection, placing her among the top 20 players in the nation. Scheele becomes the first D3Hoops.com All-American in Edgewood College history.

Curtis garners two All-America honors for 2007-08 to close out career
LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University senior center Tamika Curtis (Bellwood, Ill./Nazareth Academy) brought down the curtain on what was arguably the greatest career in Benedictine University women's basketball history by earning recognition on two different All-America teams for the 2007-08 season. Curtis was named honorable mention All-America for NCAA Division III by both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3Hoops.com.

Curtis adds another regional award
LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University's Tamika Curtis (Bellwood, Ill./Nazareth Academy) has added another award to her burgeoning collection of career accolades, being named to the 2007-08 first team All-Central Region Team by D3Hoops.com, it was announced on Wednesday. The selections were made by the sports information directors from schools within the region and players named to the first team are now eligible for consideration for the organization's All-America team to be announced later this month.

Benedictine's Curtis an All-America finalist for women's hoops
LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University women's basketball standout Tamika Curtis (Bellwood, Ill./Nazareth Academy) has been named as one of 40 finalists for the NCAA Division III State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team, it was announced Friday by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Curtis was named as one of the top five players in Region 7 (among schools from Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri) in advancing to consideration for the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, which will be announced on Thursday, March 20.

Crusader women capture NCCAA Midwest Championship
DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Maranatha women’s basketball team defeated Grace Bible College (Grand Rapids, Mich.) 66-64 to capture the NCCAA Midwest Regional Championship. The Crusader women entered the tournament as the No.1 seed with Grace as the No.2 tabbed team in the tournament. Maranatha made their win to the championship game with a victory over Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, Ill.) 61-47 on Friday. Grace advanced to the championship with an 87-47 win over Emmaus Bible College (Dubuque, Iowa) and a 64-52 win over Lincoln Christian (Lincoln, Ill.).

MADISON, Wis. -- Edgewood College women's basketball player Megan Scheele has been named one of 10 national finalists for the Jostens Trophy, honoring the outstanding Division III women's basketball player of the year. The Jostens Trophy, awarded by the Salem (Va.) Rotary Club, considers basketball ability, academic prowess and community service in selecting their annual recipient.

Regents "Think Pink" on senior day
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford College and Maranatha Baptist Bible College basketball teams will share the stage on Saturday, February 16, 2008 with a very special cause. When the teams meet on Saturday, the Regents will not only celebrate the careers of the seven seniors in the women's and men's basketball teams, but the Regents will participate in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) "Think Pink" initiative, designed to bring awareness to the need for breast cancer research. The games will take place in Seaver Gym on the campus of Rockford College. The women's game will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the men to follow at 4:15 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. -- While Megan Scheele piles up records and milestones on the court, she also manages to be an exemplary student-athlete off the court. The Edgewood College junior was named to the 2007-08 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team. Scheele was a first team selection for District V in the College Division. The College Division consists of colleges and universities from NCAA Divisions II and III, and the NAIA.

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia University Chicago women's basketball player Ellie Bravo (Elgin, IL – Larkin H.S.) scored the 1,000th point of her career in the Saturday, February 2 home game against Edgewood College. She became the sixth player in Concordia women's history to reach this plateau, joining Amy Gibson (1,243), Atoi Sinclair (1,235), Tammie (Dunker) Driver (1,172), Laura Kohrs (1,137) and Kim Schumacher (1,071).

On November 16, 2007, while playing Grace Bible College at the NCCAA Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Kuyper College of Grand Rapids, MI, Colleen Goff scored her 1000th career point!

Butler's 18 points, including the game winning layup with :18 seconds, gave the Regents' (3-2, 1-0 NAC) their first conference win.

Aurora University was tabbed to win the men's title, while Concordia University Wisconsin was selected to win the women's.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Wisconsin Lutheran College and Salem Communications, the largest Christian and family-themed broadcaster in the United States, have announced their partnership to carry Wisconsin Lutheran men's and women's basketball on AM540 WRRD for the fourth consecutive year.
