Benedictine’s Curtis honored by D3Hoops.com for second time

Lisle, Ill. -- Benedictine University junior center Tamika Curtis (Bellwood, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was named to the D3Hoops.com national "Team of the Week" for the period of February 5-11, 2007. It was the second time that Curtis has been honored by D3Hoops.com this season (also being recognized on January 28).
She has also been named as the Northern Athletics Conference "Student-Athlete of the Week" three times in 2006-07.
In last week's three games – during which the Eagles' only lost was to NAC champion Concordia University Wisconsin – Curtis averaged 24.7 points, 15.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
Against CUW, Curtis had 34 points and seven blocked shots. Curtis followed that with 18 points and 18 rebounds (17 defensive) versus Lakeland, while finishing up the week with 22 points and a career-high 20 rebounds (16 defensive) against Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday. In the win over WLC, Curtis went 8-for-8 from the floor and hit 67-percent (30-45) on the week, overall, from the field.
