Alverno assistant selected in WPS draft
MILWAUKEE -- Sarah Teegarden, an assistant soccer coach at Alverno College, was selected by the St. Louis Athletica in the sixth round of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) draft this past Friday.

Kriese and Grable honored by NSCAA
FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently announced their All-Region Teams and Marian had two players recognized. Junior Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, Wis.) was named to as a NSCAA Third Team All-Central Region, while senior Danielle Grable (Neenah, Wis.) was named to the Honorable Mention team.

Hartman named NSCAA All-Region
AURORA, Ill. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its 2009 Division III women's soccer All-Region Teams. The Aurora University Spartan women's soccer team, winners of the NAC Women's Soccer Championship for the fourth consecutive season, had junior defender Cait Hartman (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa HS) named Second-Team All-Region in the Central Region as a defender.

Spartan women’s soccer garner NSCAA academic honor
AURORA, Ill. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2008-2009 College Team Academic Award Winners. The Aurora University Spartan women’s soccer team, winners of the NAC Women’s Soccer Championship for the fourth consecutive season, was selected to the honor for their fine work away from the soccer field and in the classroom.

Both Edgewood College soccer teams earn NSCAA academic award
MADISON, Wis. -- The term student-athlete isn't just lip service for the Edgewood College men's and women's soccer teams. Both squads received the 2009 College Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Edgewood College is one of 99 schools in the nation (all NCAA divisions and NAIA) to have both their men’s and women’s teams honored.

CHICAGO -- The Aurora University Spartans were defeated 2-0 by the University of Chicago Maroons in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship at the University of Chicago.

Northern Athletics Conference women's soccer awards announced
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Northern Athletics Conference has announced the awards for the 2009 women's soccer season, as voted on by the conference's head coaches. Included are 14-member First and Second All-NAC Teams, honorable mention selections, a 14-member All-Freshman Team, a 12-member All-Sportsmanship Team and the four individual awards of Defensive Player, Offensive Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year.
