Robison, Leikness Collect Weekly Softball Awards

Concordia Wisconsin's Alyssa Robison and Edgewood's Charlie Leikness have been named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of Feb. 18-24, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Leikness (Oregon, Wis.) began her season by pitching seven scoreless innings over a span of two games while striking out six batters for the Eagles (2-4). Through six games at the Finlandia Dome Tournament, the junior threw 11.0 innings and had finished with a team-low 3.18 ERA. Leikness' highlight was the first game of the season, as she only allowed one hit through 4.0 innings in a no decision against host Finlandia.

Robison (Roselle, Ill.) drove in nine runs and hit .444 (4-for-9) over the weekend for the Falcons (0-4). The junior outfielder hit a grand slam in a 7-6 loss to Simpson, and added a bases-clearing triple versus No. 16 Carthage. She scored three times in four games and totaled three extra-base hits with a pair of home runs and a triple.
