Benedictine's Brittany Wolski and Alverno's Erin Dulek were named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of April 9-15.
Wolski (Orland Park, Ill.) tallied 16 hits on the week for a .615 average and broke the conference's all-time record with her 212th career-hit on Saturday. The senior shortstop hit successfully in all seven of the Eagles' (19-8, 11-1 NAC) games last week -- which extended her hitting-streak to nine games -- and had multiple hits in all but one of the games. She bagged three triples, had seven RBIs, and stole six bases, while defensively had a .967 fielding percentage.
Dulek (Rosholt, Wis.) compiled a 0.64 ERA and 3-1 record in the circle with 24 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched for the Inferno (11-15, 6-8 NAC). The rookie right-hander got the complete-game victory with four strikeouts and just one earned run in the Inferno's first-ever victory over Aurora on Wednesday. On Friday against Maranatha she fanned a career-high 13 batters in her first-career shutout, and followed it up with a complete-game victory in the nightcap. Her lone loss came on Saturday at Benedictine when she left the circle after just 2.0 innings pitched due to injury (trailed 1-0 at the time).
