Sagat, Zanella Honored With Weekly Softball Awards
Alverno's Ashleigh Sagat and Aurora's Natalie Zanella were named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of February 27-March 4.
Sagat (New Berlin, Wis.) batted .533 with a 1.067 slugging percentage for the Inferno (2-2). The sophomore outfielder recorded a pair of home runs knocked in nine runs with an 8-of-15 performance on the week. She had three multiple-hit games also scored three runs on the four-game week.
Zanella (Caledonia, Wis.) got the complete-game victory in her first collegiate start for the Spartans (3-1). The rookie pitched eight innings in a 1-0 win over Baldwin-Wallace. She allowed two hits and struck out seven in her debut from the circle.
