Benedictine softball to face host Central in NCAA tournament

LISLE, Ill. -- At the Coal Ben on Monday morning, the Benedictine University softball team learned its NCAA postseason fate in the form of Central College in Pella, Iowa. The Eagles join seven other teams in the eight-team, double-elimination regional which will be held Thursday through Monday at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex field.

The No. 7 seeded Benedictine Eagles will take on the host, No. 2 Central College at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dutch are currently ranked No. 5 in the nation and own a 35-7 overall record. The Iowa Conference co-champions are making their 23rd NCAA appearance in program history.
