MILWAUKEE -- MSOE women's track and field senior Emily Dieringer (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team selected by CoSIDA for District 6 in the NCAA Division III category. Dieringer is a biomedical engineering major with a 3.95 GPA.

Athletically, Dieringer is one of MSOE's brightest stars. At the 2012 Northern Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, she took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.19 and a pair of second place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and 100 meter dash, with times of 15.59 and 12.73 seconds, respectively. She also placed fourth in the pole vault at 2.88 meters.

Her time in the 200-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles broke school records formerly held by NCAA ALL American Catherine Chappell ('06). Dieringer now goes on to compete for the honor of being named to the Academic All-America team, to be announced on June 19, 2012.

The team is selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the track and in the classroom.
