Williams, Udrenaite Collect Weekly Awards
Aurora's Nick Williams and Concordia Chicago's Kamile Udrenaite have been named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Jan. 14-20, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Williams (Port Charlotte, Fla.) had an impressive showing at the NCC Cardinal Opener last Friday. The rookie set a NAC record in the long jump (7.16 meters), which also broke his week-old school record. Additionally, Williams reset the AU record -- which he set a week ago -- in the triple jump (13.99 meters).
This was Williams' second-straight weekly award from the league.
Udrenaite (Crystal Lake, Ill.) broke CUC's 20-pound weight throw record with a 13.30-meters effort at the Lewis Invitational on Friday. In addition to her fifth-place finish in the weight throw, the sophomore placed second in the shot put with a personal best of 11.29 meters.
