Coaches Tab Falcons For NAC Title
The Northern Athletics Conference men's tennis coaches tabbed Concordia Wisconsin atop the 2013 preseason poll.
The Falcons (14-11 overall) collected 92 poll points and half of the first-place votes in the poll, while Edgewood (9-19, 7-2 NAC) got the remaining half of the top votes and 87 points for the second-place slot.
Concordia Wisconsin is coming off its second-straight NAC title and has won 18-straight league games with perfect 9-0 records in each of the past two seasons.
Last season's runner-up, MSOE (9-10, 8-1) was tabbed third with 77, Aurora (7-9, 6-3) was fourth with 75 and Dominican (6-7, 5-4) rounded out the top half of the poll with 57 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-8, 2-7), Concordia Chicago (4-9, 4-5), Marian (3-7, 3-6), Rockford (1-9, 1-8) and Lakeland (0-9, 0-9) filled out the bottom half of the 10-team poll.
The league's six-team tournament will open April 30, on at the third and fourth-seeded sites, while the final two rounds will take place Saturday, May 4, at Kohler Sports Core. The tournament champion receives the NAC's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA III Championship Tournament.
