Hernandez Collects Men's Tennis Weekly Award

Aurora's Ricky Hernandez was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for events of April 2-8.

Hernandez (Yorkville, Ill.) was key in Aurora's 2-1 week with an 8-1 victory over Rockford, a 9-0 win over Marian and a close 5-4 loss to Edgewood.

Playing both No. 1 singles and doubles as a freshman, he has taken on the challenge quickly of facing the opponents' top player. The rookie finished the week for the Spartans (2-4, 2-1 NAC) with a combined 5-1 record, as he was 2-1 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles action.
