Faurote Earns Final Men's Basketball Weekly Award Of Season

Edgewood's Kent Faurote has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for games of February 20-26, the final weekly award of the 2011-12 season.

Faurote (Cassville, Wis.) led the Eagles (22-6) to their first NAC Tournament title with three victories last week. The senior guard averaged 23.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in the conference tournament.

Faurote scored 26 points in the Eagles' 64-60 semifinal win at Benedictine and followed that with a 25-point, 13-rebound performance in the 80-72 championship game win over Lakeland.

He shot a blistering 58.7 percent (27-for-46) from the floor for the week and went 11-for-14 at the free-throw line.
