AURORA, Ill. -- Aurora University Spartan senior forward Lance Robinson (Danville, Ind./Danville H.S.) was named to his second All-Region team this week. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) selected Robinson as a First-Team All-Midwest Region member just days after he was named to the 2009-2010 D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Midwest All-Region Third-Team.
Robinson's latest postseason honors come weeks after the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) announced the 2010 men's basketball All-Northern Athletics Conference awards.
In the NAC awards, Robinson was named the NAC Men's Basketball Conference Player of the Year as well as First-Team All-Conference. On the 2009-2010 season, Robinson, with his all-around game, averaged 13.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. He has an almost three-to-one assist to turnover ratio (2.60) while shooting 48.8 percent from the field (163-of-334) and averaging 1.8 steals per game.
He is fifth in NCAA Division III in assists per game with 7.2 and is third in total assists with 208. Those 208 assists were just two shy of tying the AU single-season record for assists.
AU has made four consecutive NCAA Division III championship appearances, five in six seasons, six in eight and eighth overall since 1997-1998. The appearance is also AU's fourth straight (in as many years of the conference) as a member of the Northern Athletics Conference. AU finished the 2009-2010 season with an 18-11 overall record and were NAC South Division and tournament champions.
