All-Region
AURORA, Ill. -- D3football.com announced the
2009 Football All-Region teams, which include members of the
Spartans football program on the North All-Region teams. AU finished
the season with a 4-6 overall and 2-5 record in the Northern
Athletics Conference.

Muskies fall to No. 2
Whitewater in NCAA first round
WHITEWATER, Wis. -- WHITEWATER, Wis. - Through
the first 10 minutes of the game, it appeared the Lakeland football
team would give No. 2 UW-Whitewater all it could handle. However,
the Warhawks, last year's national runner-up, would score 63
unanswered points as Lakeland turned the ball over six times in a
70-7 loss in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship
at Perkins Stadium.

2009 NAC football awards
announced
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Northern Athletics
Conference has announced the awards for the 2009 football season, as
voted on by the conference's head coaches. Included are First and
Second All-NAC Teams, honorable mention selections, an eight-member
All-Sportsmanship Team and the four individual awards of Defensive
Player, Offensive Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year.

Two football, two volleyball NAC student-athletes named to CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic
All-District teams
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the
Magazine Academic All-District Teams for football and volleyball
were announced by College Sports Information Directors of America
(CoSIDA) last week. Two football and two women's volleyball student-athletes from Northern
Athletics Conference teams received honors. To be eligible for the
honor, nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum
3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their academic
career.

Northern Athletics Conference champion, is the coaches' preseason
favorite to win the 2009 NAC football title, receiving all eight
