CUW Football Donates $1,800 To Ronald McDonald House
This past March the Concordia University Wisconsin football team held a May Madness 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to raise money for a charity of their choice. They chose the Ronald McDonald House and the seniors on the team presented a check for $1,800 to Ronald McDonald House representative Jerry Ryack at halftime of their Homecoming game against Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

Four named to IWS Preseason All-State Football Team
The online publication of Inside Wisconsin Sports has announced its Division III Preseason All-State Football Team, and four players from the Northern Athletics Conference were named to the team. Inside Wisconsin Sports' Division III Preseason All-State Team consists of players from all of Wisconsin's Division III football programs. The team was selected in May by a panel of IWS staff.

The Pontiac, Mich., native was one of 14 players to advance out of the Regional Combine at the Players Indoor Sports Center in Naperville, Ill., on March 12.

Division III conferences in Midwest announce historic partnership
MILWAUKEE -- A partnership of four NCAA Division III athletic conferences including the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), Midwest Conference (MWC), Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announce a historic agreement with the Midwest Football Officials' Alliance – Division III (MFOA-DIII) and former National Football League (NFL) official Bill Carollo to oversee all Football officiating operations beginning with the 2011 seasons. As the principle operator of MFOA-DIII, Carollo will serve as the Coordinator of Officials on behalf of all four conferences and will be joined by Tom Fiedler and Jim Lapetina as Assistant Coordinators for the MFOA-DIII.

Rockford hires new coaches and trainer
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford College Regents opened the 2011 Spring semester with several changes in the Athletic Department. After three exhaustive, nationwide searches, the Regents hired new coaches to the lead the football and women's soccer programs, as well as a new head athletic trainer. New to the Regents athletics family are head football coach Vic Wallace, head women's soccer coach Scott Westbrook, and athletic trainer Keith Garnett, ATC.

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- While the last five years of Concordia University Chicago football under head coach Lonnie Pries have provided many memorable moments, the Oct. 9 Homecoming game gave a capacity crowd of 1,500 a particularly unique milestone to witness. Senior running back Khyree Copeland (Jacksonville, FL/Potter's House Academy) became the first player in team history to rush for 3,000 yards in his career in the Cougars' 38-21 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College.

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Teams for football and volleyball were announced by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week. Two football and two women's volleyball student-athletes from Northern Athletics Conference teams received honors. To be eligible for the honor, nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their academic career.

Regents look to make a difference
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- For years, people have said that it takes a village to raise a child. On Saturday, October 25, the Rockford College Athletic Department and the Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement (JACCE) will do a little extra to help influence Rockford youth. CUW's Gabrielsen announces retirement
MEQUON, Wis. -- Long-time Concordia head football coach Jeff Gabrielsen has announced his retirement from the college coaching ranks to accept a position as Athletic Director at New Berlin Eisenhower High School. Gabrielsen's name has been synonymous with Falcon football success since 1983. Prior to that time he played six seasons of professional football after graduating from Ripon College.
