Aurora senior-outfielder Ryan Adams was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Division III Baseball First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
A business commerce major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, Adams is a two-year starter in the Aurora outfield. A two-time All-Northern Athletics Conference selection, he helped the Spartans win the NAC championship and earn their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. A second team all-region selection, Adams batted .382, second on the team. He also scored a team high 66 runs while hitting 15 doubles with three triples, three home runs and 51 runs batted in. A native of Geneva, Ill., Adams stole 25 bases in 27 attempts while leading Aurora to a 38-10 record.
Adams was one of four student-athletes from the Northern Athletics Conference, as Marian's Jesse Blum (Sr., P) and Edgewood Jake Zadra (Jr., OF) were named to the second team, and Aurora's Tim Mackey (Sr., 3B) was named to the third team.
