NAC Represented By 4 On Academic All-District Baseball Teams
The 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Director of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom and four represented the Northern Athletics Conference in this year's awards.
District 6
- Jesse Blum, Marian, Sr., P, Marion, Wis., 3.93 GPA in Finance
- Jake Zadra, Edgewood, Jr., OF, Madison, Wis., 3.98 in Biology
District 7
- Tim Mackey, Aurora, Sr., IF, Rosemont, Ill., 3.72 in Business commerce/marketing
- Ryan Adams, Aurora, Sr., OF, Geneva, Ill., 4.00 in Business commerce
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the first year of the expanded Academic All-America program as CoSIDA moves from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non Division I) and doubles the number of scholar-athletes honored. The teams included NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the college division combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
