Van Asdlen's 3 Homers, Raver's Shutout Secure Weekly Awards

Aurora's Brett Van Asdlen and Wisconsin Lutheran's Alex Raver were named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of April 30-May 6.

Van Asdlen (Minooka, Ill.) had a record-setting week for Aurora (32-8, 18-4 NAC) who went 3-0 and captured their first NAC title. Van Asdlen hit .692 in three games with five home runs, one double, 15 RBIs and six runs scored. In Aurora's win over Dominican on Thursday he hit three home runs, which included a grand slam in the first inning. His 10 runs batted in for the game broke a single game Aurora record that dated back to 1996.

Raver (Bartlett, Ill.) threw a complete-game one-hitter in his only start of the week versus Maranatha. The sophomore right-hander tossed his fourth complete game of the season in the win while recording his first shutout. Raver struck out two and walked none in seven innings of work for the Warriors (12-28, 9-13 NAC).
