Spartans Sweep Weekly Baseball Awards
Aurora's Josh Davidson and Drew Gay were named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of February 27-March 4.
Davidson (Cypress, Calif.) started 2012 where he left off in 2011, hitting .455 (5-for-11) in the first three games for the Spartans (4-1). The senior outfielder had a double, three runs batted in and four stolen bases to begin the season.
Gay (Marseilles, Ill.) led Aurora to an 8-4 win over regional foe Wartburg to open the 2012 season. The junior right-hander allowed just two earned runs and struck out four in 7.1 innings in the victory.
