Spartan alum signs professional
contract
AURORA, Ill.
-- Aurora University Spartan baseball 2010 graduate Kirk Williamson
(catcher) has signed a professional contract with the Rockford
Riverhawks, an independent team based out of Rockford, Ill., in the
Northern League.

(Matteson, Ill. – Marian Catholic H.S.) has earned the prestigious
Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove award as selected by the
American Baseball Coaches Association for a second consecutive

Whitewater for NCAA Regional
AURORA, Ill. -- The NCAA Division III baseball
championship selection committee announced the seeding for the 2010 NCAA
Division III Championship. The Spartans of Aurora University will travel to the
UW-Whitewater Regional hosted by University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in
Whitewater, Wis.

Standridge lead NAC baseball awards
WAUKESHA,
Wis. -- The Northern Athletics Conference has announced the All-NAC
awards for the 2010 baseball season.
The awards, as selected by the baseball coaches of the NAC, include
a 15-member First Team, honorable mention selections, a 10 member
All-Freshman team, a 12-member All-Sportsmanship team and the four
major awards of Position Player, Pitcher, Freshman and Coach of the
Year. This year's First Team All-NAC was expanded to 16 members due
to a tie at the catcher's position.

Tournament opens on Friday in Loves Park, Ill.
MADISON, Wis. –- After an exciting and highly
competitive regular season, only four teams remain to vie for the
Northern Athletics Conference Baseball Tournament title and the NCAA
Tournament automatic bid that comes with it. Edgewood College earned
the No. 1 seed after winning a tiebreaker with Rockford College who
is the second seed. Concordia Wisconsin is the third seed after
winning a tiebreak with No. 4 seed Aurora University and Concordia
Chicago.

Seven baseball, four softball NAC
student-athletes named to CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic
All-District teams
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the
Magazine Academic All-District Team for baseball and softball
were announced by College Sports Information Directors of America
(CoSIDA) last week, and 11 student-athletes from Northern
Athletics Conference teams received honors. To be eligible for the
honor, nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum
3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their academic
career.

Edgewood College, Verona
High School team up to "Strike Out Cancer"
VERONA,
Wis. -- The Edgewood College and Verona
Area High School baseball teams will be teaming up this Saturday to win baseball
games and help defeat cancer. The two teams have joined forces with the Breast
Cancer Recovery Foundation of Madison for a "Strike Out Cancer" Awareness Day on
Saturday, May 8 at their shared home park, Stampfl Field in Verona.

Regents look to strike out cancer
ROCKFORD,
Ill. -- On Sunday, May 2, the Rockford College baseball team will be
doing its part to fight a disease that affects millions of people each year. The
Regents will be raising money to help bring awareness to the fight against
breast cancer when they host the Concordia University Chicago Cougars at Road
Ranger Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
