Kriese and Grable honored by
NSCAA
FOND DU LAC, Wis.
-- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
recently announced their All-Region Teams and Marian had two players
recognized. Junior Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, Wis.) was named to as
a NSCAA Third Team All-Central Region, while senior Danielle Grable
(Neenah, Wis.) was named to the Honorable Mention team. Eleven
players from the state of Wisconsin were recognized, with four of
them being Northern Athletics Conference players.
Kriese, a Science/Psychology major, was second on the team in
scoring with 28 points (11G/6A). She was a NAC Second Team selection
in 2009. In 2007 and 2008 she was named to the NAC First Team. She
is currently tied for second on the all-time scoring list with 119
points (50G/19A).
Grable, a Nursing major, led the team in scoring this past season
with 31 points (13G/5A). She started in all 19 games and was also a
CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection. Her 31
points placed her ninth in total points in the conference. She was a
NAC Second Team selection in 2008.
The Sabres 11-7-1 overall this past season and 7-5 in the NAC.
Marian advanced to the second round of the 2009 NAC Tournament after
defeating Concordia University-Wisconsin 2-1. They fell to Aurora
University in the semifinals.
