Falcons win first-ever NCAA
game
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Falcons of Concordia
University Wisconsin made history with their first NCAA Championship
Tournament win today, defeating St. Norbert College, 6-3, with
game-long offensive pressure. CUW had lost a day earlier 4-1 to Alma
College in the double elimination tournament.
Erin Meier and Rachel Homp each had a pair of hits and an RBI, but
Jenna DiMaggio’s two-run homer was the key blow for CUW, giving the
Falcons a two run lead that they never relinquished.
Danielle Burke was outstanding in relief, allowing a single tally in
4 innings of work, as Concordia improved to 25-22 on the season.
Concordia will play later today against the loser of Alma vs.
Illinois Wesleyan.
