Benedictine Athletics offers its local community relief from pump prices For the entire 2008-09 school year, Benedictine University (located 25 miles west of Chicago) will waive the admission cost to all home regular season athletics events to all Village of Lisle residents and their immediate family with proof of residency. "We hope that by offering this program we can give a little something back the Village of Lisle" said Dave Swanson, Director of Sports Events. "Benedictine University is all about community and family. This is a tangible way we can give Lisle residents an entertainment option that's closer to home. "Although coming to a small college athletics event isn't that same as going to a stadium for a Division I game, our student-athletes compete with the same dedication and truly do carry the banner for the Village of Lisle whenever they take the field. This is not only a fantastic chance to get to see all the things going on at Benedictine University, but also a great way for parents to plant the seed of a college education in the minds of their children by something as simple as bringing them to a game." For more information, please contact Benedictine University Sports Information Director, Dave Beyer, at (630) 829-6143. Game times can also be found on the Benedictine Web site at: www.ben.edu/athletics. Courtesy of Benedictine University, Sports Information Department, August 9, 2008. |
