Wis. -- The Northern Athletics Conference has announced the
conference's Student-Athlete of the Week awards. The awards include
events taking place from Monday, Feb. 1, to Sunday, Feb. 7.

Five NAC basketball
student-athletes named to CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic
All-District teams
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the
Magazine Academic All-District Team for men's and women's basketball
were announced by College Sports Information Directors of America
(CoSIDA) this week, and five student-athletes from Northern
Athletics Conference teams received honors. To be eligible for the
honor, nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum
3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their academic
career.

Smith breaks CUC's career scoring record
RIVER FOREST, Ill.
-- Marche Smith (Oak Park, Ill./Trinity H.S.), a 5-8 junior guard
for the Concordia University Chicago women’s basketball team, became the
school’s career leader in points Saturday afternoon in only her 71st career
game. Needing 24 points for the record, she scored 30 while helping the Cougars
to a 57-54 win in overtime against visiting Edgewood College.

Williams to compete at USA Cross Country
Championships
MADISON, Wis.
-- Edgewood College freshman runner Josh Williams will get the
opportunity to race against some of the nation's best young runners at the 2010
USA Cross Country Championships. Williams will run the Junior Men’s 8K race on
Saturday, February 13 at Plantes Ferry Recreation Park in Spokane, Washington.

Roland enters Spartan 1,000 Point Club
AURORA,
Ill. -- Aurora University Spartan men’s basketball had its 29th
player enter the AU 1,000 Point Club in the Spartans 80-75 win over Wisconsin
Lutheran College on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010. Senior forward Shane Roland
(Knightstown, Ind./Knighttown HS) surpassed the 1,000 point plateau with the
second of two free throws with 12:33 left to play in the second half.

Oestreich chosen to revive Edgewood College men's
tennis program
MADISON, Wis. -- Ben Oestreich, currently the Edgewood
College women's tennis coach, has accepted the additional responsibility of
leading the men's tennis program which will return to Edgewood College this fall
after a 10-year absence.

Miller becomes 12th to join WLC's
1,000-point club
MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin Lutheran College senior forward Whitney
Miller (Germantown, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) became the 12th women's
basketball player in school history to reach 1,000 career points on Wednesday,
January 20 when the Warriors defeated Benedictine University 73-70 at the
Recreation Complex.

Alverno assistant selected in WPS draft
MILWAUKEE -- Sarah Teegarden, an assistant soccer coach at Alverno
College, was selected by the St. Louis Athletica in the sixth round of the
Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) draft this past Friday.
